International Independent Schools’ public speaking competition involves numerous Canadian and American students at an annual competition. At this year’s competition, several FDT students participated yielding outstanding results. Special recognition to Jaiden Ahuja for advancing to world qualifiers. In overall speaker awards, Jaiden Ahuja placed 6th place, Michelle Liu placed 16th along with Nora Zhu, and Enya Fang placed 23rd. In persuasive speaker awards, Jaiden Ahuja placed 2nd, and in interpretive reading awards, Jaiden Ahuja placed 4th. In the newscast awards, Zac Weinberg placed 2nd. In Impromptu awards, Jaiden Ahuja placed 4th. In the monologue awards, Matthew Yu placed 4th and in the After Dinner awards, Enya Fang placed 4th. Congratulations to all who participated!
