After last week\’s Canadian National Public Speaking Championships we are pleased to announce some amazing results. Our very own Angela Lu placed 5th overall and has qualified to join the National Speech Team and represent Canada at the World Individual Debate and Public Speaking Championships later this year. She joins FDT student Emily Ni, who is also on the National Team.
There are even more great results to announce from the tournament. We want to congratulate FDT student Nora Zhu for placing 7th overall as well as Jena Yue who placed 10th. Moreover, Nora is the 1st alternate for Worlds in the event a student has to withdraw.
Our students also found success in the individual events at Nationals. In particular we want to recognize Nora Zhu for placing 3rd in Interpretative Reading, Jena Yue for placing 3rd in Debate, and Angela Lu for placing 3nd. Finally a huge congratulations again to Angela Lu for placing 1st in the Persuasive Speech and Impromptu Speech events.
We wish Angela great success as she represents Canada at Worlds!
