After achieving success at the World Scholar\’s Cup both in the Vancouver Round and the Global Rounds in The Hague and Sydney earlier this year some of FDT\’s best and brightest ended their Scholar\’s Cup journey at the Tournament of Champions at Yale University earlier this month.
FDT brought Jerry Song, Jason Song, and Fiona Li to New Haven, Connecticut to compete against over 1,5000 other students who were invited after their own success at the Global Round. The competition was fierce and so we are so proud of our students for their amazing results.
As a team, Jerry, Jason, and Fiona won a silver medal in debate and writing. Moreover, individually Fiona won 1 gold medal and 3 silver medals, Jason won 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals, and Jerry won 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals. We also want to congratulate other FDT students competing at the tournament with their schools. In particular, Rohan Singh who placed 26th and won a gold medal individually in debate, as well as Amy Ren who was the 4th place Skittles scholar, and whose team came in 9th place overall.
We are so happy that our students enjoyed the competition and we look forward to more FDT successes at the World Scholar\’s Cup next year!
