FDT currently offers group classes which are sorted by age and experience level. We teach basic to advanced debate skills to students from kindergarten to grade 12, and university. Our youngest classes teach students how to build confidence and write speeches. Our older classes prepare secondary school students for high level tournaments. In addition to debate, we also offer dedicated classes to teaching public speaking, in preparation for competing at public speaking competitions, as well as Model UN classes where experienced instructors teach fundamental skills to help students prepare for Model UN conferences. Furthermore, we prepare students to compete at the World Scholar’s Cup, both locally and abroad. We also offer private one-on-one lessons, where we can tailor learning to a student’s individual needs. For those far away from the Lower Mainland or who can’t make it to our Academy, we offer classes through Skype.
The skills students learn in public speaking will stay with them for the rest of their education and career, allowing them to give flawless presentations or snag their dream job in an interview; public speaking is an integral skill for everyone to learn.
